These terms apply when you use CarHistory.report, create an account, add wallet credit, request a vehicle check, or use our developer API. Car History Report operates the service and can be contacted at [email protected]. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you use it for a business, you confirm you are authorised to accept them for that business. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Who may use the service
You must be at least 18 and provide accurate account and payment information. Keep your password, API key and sign-in session secure. You are responsible for activity through your account and must tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
Vehicle checks and reports
We provide vehicle information reports for UK and Ireland registrations using information available to us from registries and other data sources. A report is an informational aid at the time it is generated. It is not a guarantee, inspection, valuation, certificate of title, legal advice, or a substitute for checking authoritative records or having the vehicle independently inspected.
Records can be incomplete, delayed, inconsistent or incorrect, and sources may change. A clear result does not prove that a vehicle has no undisclosed issue. You should verify important details directly with the relevant authority and obtain professional advice where appropriate. Do not rely on a report as the sole basis for a purchase, lending, insurance or other significant decision.
Permitted use
Only request a check when you have a lawful reason and any permission required. You must not use the service to harass or identify a person, make a decision about an individual where prohibited, submit data unlawfully, interfere with the service, bypass access controls, or resell or redistribute reports except as expressly allowed by your account or API plan.
Prices, wallet and payment
Prices are shown before you confirm a purchase and are charged in pounds sterling unless stated otherwise. A single dashboard report costs £35. A five-report pack costs £85 and a fifteen-report pack costs £150; each pack grants report credits, which are consumed only when a dashboard report completes. If generation fails, the unused credit remains available for retry. Developer API reports cost £2.75 each and are deducted from prepaid wallet funds; wallet deposits start at £50. Enterprise large reports are quoted at £4–£8 per report based on volume and scope. Wallet funds are not interest-bearing and cannot be transferred to another account. Payment card details are processed by Stripe, and any applicable tax is shown at checkout. Your payment provider may apply its own terms.
Wallet credit and reports are subject to our refunds and report issues policy and any mandatory consumer rights. No subscription or automatic renewal is created by a wallet top-up.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the service available, but access may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, security or events outside our reasonable control. We may update or discontinue a feature. We will not remove rights already granted by law.
Intellectual property
The website, software, presentation and report format belong to CarHistory.report or its licensors. You may use reports generated for your account for your lawful personal or business purpose. You may not copy, reverse engineer, commercially redistribute or publicly publish the service itself without written permission.
Suspension
We may restrict or suspend access if reasonably necessary to protect the service, comply with law, investigate suspected fraud or misuse, or address a serious breach of these terms. Where appropriate, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
Liability and consumer rights
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including any non-waivable consumer rights. If you are a consumer, these terms do not take away protections given by the laws that apply where you live. Subject to that, we are not responsible for indirect losses or decisions you make based solely on a report, or for events outside our reasonable control.
Privacy, changes and contact
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. We may update these terms by posting a revised version here. The current version applies from its stated update date. Questions: [email protected].
