Refunds, report issues and corrections

Last updated: 26 October 2026

Completed reports and credits already used are not refundable, except where a refund is required by law or the charge was made in error.

This policy applies to wallet top-ups, report-credit packs and vehicle reports purchased from CarHistory.report, operated by Car History Report. Contact [email protected]. It does not limit any consumer cancellation, refund or other right that cannot legally be excluded under UK, Irish, EU or other applicable law.

Completed reports

Once a requested report has been successfully generated and made available, its charge is generally final and cannot be refunded simply because you changed your mind, entered the wrong registration, or disagree with information supplied by a data source. Check the registration and country before submitting a request.

Report errors and correction requests

If a report appears to show the wrong vehicle identity or a detail looks incorrect, stop relying on that report and email [email protected] from your account email. Include the report ID, the section or field in question, and any evidence that helps explain the issue. We will review the report and respond. CarHistory.report cannot alter records held by a government department or another data provider; those records must be corrected with the organisation that maintains them.

Wallet deposits and unused balance

Wallet top-ups are prepaid service credit, not a subscription. Report packs are purchased report credits, not wallet money. Outside any applicable statutory cancellation right, unused deposits and pack credits are not refundable or transferable except where required by law, the charge was incorrect, or we failed to provide the paid service.

Failed or duplicate charges

One-off and report-pack checkouts add report credits before generation. If generation fails, the unused credit remains available for a retry. If a report still cannot be generated, a report was charged more than once, or the amount is incorrect, contact us so we can review the transaction. Where we confirm a duplicate or incorrect charge, or that we failed to provide the paid service, we will correct the credit balance or issue an appropriate refund. This does not limit any remedy required by law.

Consumer cancellation rights

If you are a consumer buying online, you may have a statutory cancellation period for certain purchases. The length and effect of that right depend on the contract and applicable law. For a service started at your request during a cancellation period, the law may allow a proportionate charge for what has already been supplied. A right to cancel digital content may only be lost when the legal conditions for starting supply early have been met. We do not use this policy to remove a statutory right that still applies.

If you believe you are entitled to cancel or receive a refund under consumer law, email us within the relevant period and explain your request. We will assess it under the law that applies to you. See the UK consumer protection guidance and the Irish CCPC guidance.

How to contact us about a charge

If a report was not generated but a charge appears, a charge is duplicated, or the amount is wrong, email [email protected] from the email address on your account. Include the payment date, amount and transaction or invoice reference. Do not email full card details or your account password. We will review the request and respond using your account email.
