About CarHistory.report

Vehicle history, with the limits made clear

CarHistory.report is an independent vehicle information service for UK and Ireland registrations, operated by Car History Report.

How our reports work

When you request a report, the service looks up vehicle identity and available specifications, then displays estimates and check statuses. A 14-page layout does not mean every section contains a record or a live source result.

Which history sources are connected today?

Live stolen-vehicle, finance, commercial-use, write-off, scrap and full MOT/NCT history providers are not currently connected. Those checks are marked unavailable or not verified. For some Irish registrations, a next NCT date may be returned with the vehicle details; that is not a full NCT test history. Use the relevant official service to check official records.

Read every status in context

A result such as “no record found” only describes what a connected source returned for that particular check. “Unavailable” or “not checked” means that check did not confirm an answer. None of these statuses proves that a vehicle has never had an incident. Some historical checks currently have no connected source. Records can be incomplete, delayed or incorrect.

Independent service, not a government certificate

CarHistory.report is not a government department, vehicle registry, inspection centre or insurer. Our reports are informational. Use the relevant government or testing service for official vehicle information, check the vehicle and its documents in person, and arrange an independent inspection before buying.

The public sample report PDF uses demonstration data. It illustrates the report layout and status labels; it is not a real vehicle-history certificate.
